I Tried Something New

I really like to paint a simple vintage finish.  A basic one color, clear wax and rub off the edges.  I decided to stretch a little so when I first saw this little set I knew I wanted something more rustic feeling.  I headed down to my local fabric superstore and found this wonderful fabric which inspired my color choice.  The thin duck egg color stripe just wanted to be paired with Duck Egg Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan.

The before; she is a little sad but the lines of the chairs are so wonderful.

I painted on relatively thick coat of Duck Egg Chalk Paint, heavily distressed and then applied a couple of coats of Soft Clear Wax by Annie Sloan.  I usually wax first but I knew I wanted to remove more paint than usual.

This was my easiest project of this size in a long time.
